♡Thanks to all who have been keeping our family in prayer♡
Sharing this at the rest of the families request.
I'll miss you Dewana.. I hope I've adequately honored your memory and I'll continue to do my best to continue to share your story, so in some way others are helped.
My husband Victor Phillips sister
☆DeWana Phillips ..
went home to be with the Lord today.☆
DeWana was only 50 years old.
●She had a major stroke in her early 20's
that had a major impact on most of her adult life.
That stroke robbed her of getting married or having any children ..
Tho she loved her brothers kids
(Alfonso n Vicky) I've been told she would say " I'm taking them to the park .." but end up at Kings Island!!!
Tho she had to be cared for,
●I don't believe any of us anticipated
her actually leaving us this soon.
She no longer is held prisoner by her Earthly body that kept her from fully communicating with those she loved..
even as we are thankful for that,
our hearts are just broken with grief.
● I never knew DeWanna before her stroke.
But I still got to know DeWana:)
She let it be known in no uncertain terms..
that Victor was her big brother & tho she couldn't tell me verbally. .
She gestured that she would still lay me out if I messed him over!♡
●She loved beautiful clothes & often picked at the clothing I wore that she liked. .
She did so as well with my hair& nails♡
If she didn't like something. .
I would get slapped! (& yelled at!)
●DeWana loved music.
The one thing that didn't change was ...DeWana would dance!
She didn't miss a beat!
That stroke took so much from her..
But music was more powerful than her illness..
When music played. .
You'd never know she had been ill.
I'll miss playing music for DeWana to dance to.
● Please keep DeWana's mother Loretta,
Victor, her brother Robert Phillips , her niece Genesis , nephew Jonah, myself , my children Alex, Dre' & Jazz in your prayers .. As well as so many cousins
( Wanda, Mickey , friends Raymond, Gregory Bryant & big cousin Ducky aka
( Donald Blanton ) all of who were more than family.
DeWana fly high with your cousin
Karen Reed who just left us in February.
We know Heaven just got a whole lot more turnt up!

I didn't have the opportunity to meet Dewana, but from what I read, she sounds like she was a special lady! Know that your family has our condolences and that we will all see each other on that Great Gettin' Up Morning. My brother & I bring you prayers from St. Paul AME Church in Lima, and I bring you prayers from Payne Chapel AME Church in Kenton. God plucked a beautiful rose from His earthly garden & gave her a new body so that she can dance in heaven! Everyone loved Dewana but God loved her best.
