Obituary of Shermaine Deqaun Upshaw

Shermaine Deqaun Upshaw, age 44 passed from this life on Monday, August 21, 2023 at his residence.  He was born April 14, 1979 in Lima, Ohio to Luscious Upshaw, Jr. and Vivian Ann Taylor.  Both parents preceded him in death.  He is survived by his stepfather and stepmother Melvin and Sally Williams, both of Lima, Ohio.

Shermaine loved his son, Emari.  He loved to travel.  Shermaine enjoyed all sports and hanging out with his friends.

Shermaine leaves to cherish his precious memory a son: Emari Upshaw of Atlanta, GA; 2 brothers: Michael (Monet) Upshaw and Demetrius Taylor, both of Lima, OH; 2 sisters: Kim Battle and Ally Allen, both of Lima, OH.  2 special cousin-moms: Tracie Shurelds of Lima, Ohio and Earlene Foster also of Lima.  A host other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by a son, Shamere Upshaw.

Home Going Services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Lewis Officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
