Mrs. Pearl Lee Lane, age 74, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at approximately 8:27 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
She was born on February 6, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to the union of Rubin and Annie Will (Dillard) Sims, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.
On April 27, 1968 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Collie Lane; he preceded her in death on May 28, 2020.
Mrs. Lane worked as a Trainer at General Motors Corporation. She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary, Church Trustee and on the Pastor’s Aid Committee. She was a member of U.A.W. Local 211.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory a daughter; Gwendolen R. Lane-Harvey of Lima. A Goddaughter; Deborah Thompson of Lima. 3 grandchildren, Kylen M. Lane-Harvey, Jakoby M. Lane-Harvey and Kudzai Kurapa all of Lima. A great grandchild; Kamren Kurapa. 2 sisters; Alberta M. Fisher and Mary L. Dixon (Oscar), Sr. both of Lima. 2 sisters-in-law; Neotha Paden and Fannie M. Sims of Lima. A brother-in-law; Emmett Lane of Lima. An uncle; Cullen Dillard of Lima. 2 nephews she raised; Gregory L. Sims and Snowden Gene Sims. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother; Rubin Sims, Jr. and a sister; Helen Sims.
Home going services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Monford officiating and Rev. Dr. B. L. Monford, Sr. eulogizing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. also at the Church.
