Mrs. Waymon Boddie, age 96, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at approximately 5:45 a.m. at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born on August 13, 1924 in Florence, Alabama to Dallas and Amy L. (Thompson) Jones; both parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Boddie retired from R.C.A. Corporation after many years of service.
Mrs. Boddie was united in Christ in 1938 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G. W. Thompson; she later joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until she moved to Lima. She united with Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Horace Amerson in 1958.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory 2 sons; Grady Clemons (Ruthie) and Sandros Boddie both of Lima. 2 daughters; Amy Secession (John) and Georgia Young (Tyrone Brock) both of Lima. 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. A host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 3 daughters; Emma Hairston, Susie Boddie and Elizabeth Boddie. A great-granddaughter; Brittney McDuffie. 5 brothers; Herman Jones, Delano Jones, Edgar Jones, Ervin Jones and Emory Jones. 4 sisters; Earline Turner, Angeline Perkins, Addie L. Baugh and WaVine Smith.
Home Going Services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Bolling, officiating.
Visitation/Wake will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Church.
Interment – Woodlawn Cemetery
