OBITUARY OF MAE SHEILA CRUELL
Mae Sheila Cruell, age 87, of Lima, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10:20 pm at her residence.
As she went by Sheila, she was born June 2, 1936 in Florence, Alabama, to Anna Mae Napier and Freddie C. Stewart. Both parents preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Hubert J. Cruell on August 6, 1969, he survives in Lima, Ohio.
Sheila attended Lima Public Schools and obtained her GED as an adult, a proud accomplishment for her. She was retried from St. Rita’s Medical Center where she worked for 20 years. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan, she loved watching football, baseball and basketball. She loved flowers and plants, especially roses and her favorite color was red. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed having them at home for the holidays or anytime. She was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church and it’s Church Mother Ministry.
She is survived by 4 sons, Cornell Springer, Cincinnati, OH, Michael K. (Lena) Springer, Sr., Lima, Ohio, LaBarron Springer, Englewood, Ohio, and Damon L. (LaShonda) Cruell of Lima, Ohio; 1 daughter Carla D. Springer, Lima, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Edna P. Stewart of Florence, Alabama. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 5 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves 3 nieces, Joyce Boddie of Lima, OH, Felicia Taylor of Gurnee, IL, Tiffany Stewart of Birmingham, AL and a great-niece, Gwen Upshaw of Lima, OH; nephews James Stewart of Simi Valley, CA and Chauncey Taylor of Gurnee, IL. She also leaves very close cousins, Daisy Jones of Lima, OH, Bobbie Skipworth, Lima, OH, Joyce Williams, Sidney, OH and Claudia Stockard, Perrysburg, OH and her best friend of many years, Louella Doxie, Lima, OH and a host of other cousins of whom she loved them all.
Sheila was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy L. Williams and Willie F. Stewart; two sisters San Antonio (Sandy) Taylor and Hattie Mae Chandler, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Worsham Springer.
Home Going Services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Butler officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
