Mr. John Adam Secession, age 81, passed from this life on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio at 8:40 am. He was born on March 28, 1942 in Belzoni, Mississippi to Sammy and Fannie Elizabeth (Custom) Secession. Both parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Amy O. (Clemons) Secession.
John attended Eleventh Street Baptist Church. He worked as a machinist at the Ford Motor Corp where he retired and was a member of U.A.W. #1219. His favorite hobby was fishing and hunting. He learned to cook and had his own recipe for Souse Meat. In his younger years he learned about cars from his father and became an excellent self-taught mechanic. He was a volunteer at the Cheryl Allen Center and was honored by the city Mayor’s office for saving a life during a car accident.
Besides his loving wife he leaves to cherish his precious memory 3 sons: Adam D. Secession, LeQuory Q. (Ericka) Secession and Myron Adams all of Lima. 5 daughters: Deborah M. Woodley of Texas, Nicole R. Secession of Toledo, Sumeka Secession and Meosha Corbin (Andre) both of Lima and Shanee Dawson of Kentucky. 1 brother: J.D. Secession of Lima, OH. 3 sisters: Mary Mays and Fannie J. Powell, both of Lima, OH and Dora Secession of Findlay. 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a Granddaughter; Brittany Secession (McDuffy) and 6 brothers: Jerry L. Secession, Marvin Secession, Henry Secession, Sammy L. Secession, Edward D. Secession, and Sylvester Secession.
Home going services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Eleventh Street Baptist Church with Rev. James Bolling officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. also at the church.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
