James Chambers, Sr.

Mr. James Chambers, Sr., age 102, passed from this life on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at approximately 1:25 a.m. at his residence in Pickerington, Ohio.

He was born on September 1, 1918 in Russell County, Alabama to Brown and Lelia Mae (Reynolds) Chambers; both parents preceded him in death.

On April 28, 1941 he was united in holy matrimony to Katie Mae Leonard who preceded him in death on August 16, 2011.

Mr. Chambers retired as a Machinist Oiler at B & O Railroad.  He was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; James Chambers, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Eddie Chambers (Donna) of Springfield, OH.  2 daughters; Catheree Thomas of Cleveland and Lelia Ali of Pickerington, OH.  9 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A brother; Eddie Chambers (Lee) of Cleveland, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter; Katie L. Chambers; a grandson; Leonard K. Thomas.  4 sisters; Minnie Brown, Alice Mae Chambers, Annie M. Vance, Katie L. Alexander.  7 brothers; Brown Chambers, York Chambers, Clarence Chambers, Leo Hoskins, Curtis Chambers, Willie Chambers and Charlie Chambers.

Home Going Services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Dr. Lamont Monford, Sr.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service, also at the funeral home.

Interment:  Memorial Park Cemetery
