Mrs. Geneva Herma Colbert-Jackson, age 89, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at approximately 1:50 a.m. at Hospitality Healthcare in Xenia, Ohio.
She was born on September 3, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio to the union of Jessie James and Anna Carletta (Akins) Colbert; both parents preceded her in death.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Sherman Jackson, he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jackson earned an associate degree in Early Child Development. She became a stenographer and worked for the Office of Economic Opportunity. She also worked at World Bank and at the Walter Reed Army Commissary. She had a real estate license and briefly sold real estate. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Zion Baptist Church, member of Professional Women’s Organization in Washington, D.C. Chapter and was a former Girl Scout Leader.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory a daughter; Janice Magwood and a son; Robert Jackson (Fatiha) both of Washington, DC. 2 grandsons; Marcus Magwood (Andrea) of Maryland and Malcolm Magwood of Washington, DC. A sister-in-law; Irene Colbert of Xenia, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother; Anison J. Colbert, Sr. 2 sisters; Tessie Hall and Jessie Lockett.
Memorial Services will take place in Youngstown, Oh on May 6, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Belmont Park Cemetery, 3346 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
