Elder Maurice Darcel Garner

Elder Maurice Darcel Garner, age 52, passed from this life on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 12:30 a.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  He was born on November 21, 1970  in Lima, Ohio to Carrie Sue Garner Campbell, his mother preceded him in death. His father Willie F. Campbell survives in Lima.

Elder Garner was an Aluminum Tech at General Motors. He was a member of Local Union #211 and was a 1989 graduate of Lima Senior High School.  Elder Garner was raised in Mt. Olivet Church of God In Christ but later united with Lima Seventh Day Adventist. He was very kind, polite and good-mannered. 

Besides his loving father, Willie F. Campbell he is survived 6 brothers; William Campbell (Dawna), Stephen Campbell and Joshua Campbell all of Columbus, OH.  Peter Grier of Atlanta, GA.  Tyrone Campbell (Sandra) of Ft. Wayne, IN.  and Hollis Daniels (Jess) of Kenton, OH.  2 sisters; Kara Campbell (Kevin) of Columbus, OH and Joyce Smith of Macon, GA.    A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Betty A. Lewis. Maternal grandparents; Wiley R. Garner and Irene & Lawrence Turner.

Home Going Services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Church of God In Christ with Elder John D. Holly, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. also at the church.

Interment:   Woodlawn Cemetery
