Edward Lee Smith

Mr. Edward Lee Smith, age 75, passed from this life on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at approximately 1:27 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on February 2, 1945   in Russell County, Alabama to the union of Willie and Gertrude (Broadus) Smith, Sr.; both parents preceded him in death.  

On October 28, 1966 he was united in holy matrimony to Theresa Shurelds, she preceded him in death.

Mr. Smith retired from General Motors Corporation.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Union #211.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Eric Smith (Carmen Rivera) of Lima.  Edward Smith (Lachiana Redmond) of Indianapolis, IN. A daughter Tambra Smith (Boubasar Dandakoye) of Lima.  15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers; Wayne Smith (Natalie McGee) and Curtis Smith (Velma Hardy) both of Lima.  3 sisters; Carolyn Henson (Wayne) of Toledo, OH.  Gloria Smith (Lee Tolbert) and Sandra Smith (Kendall Ward) both of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren; Damion Smith and Camaron Dansby Smith.  4 brothers; Michael Smith, Willie Smith, Jr., Gregory Davis and Freddie Smith.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home.
