Mr. Donald “Duck” Goston, Sr., age 64, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at approximately 6:27 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on December 16, 1956 in Lima, Ohio to Rodney Williams, who preceded him in death and Rachael Porter who survives in Columbus, Ohio. His stepmother; Teresa Williams survives in Washington, DC.
On June 19, 1998 he married the love of his life, his Queen Cherry (Harris) Goston who survives in Lima. They lived a beautiful life of 29 years together, 24 of which they were married. The love he had for his Mother, I knew he was the man for me. Great husband, father, friend, a problem solver.
Donald Goston, Sr. served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1979. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend to many. To know him was to truly love him! He also was an avid Cleveland Browns football fan, loved card games and going fishing with his family. Mr. Goston loved the Lord and always told his family to Keep God First!
Mr. Goston worked at the Tank Plant as a welder for 10 years, V.P. in Van Wert for 8 years as a welder at North Western Pipeline for many years. He was a man of many trades.
In addition to his loving wife Cherry, Donald is survived by his children; a son; Donald Goston, Jr. (Ashlyn) of Lima. Two daughters; Kamila S. Brown of Lithia Springs, GA and Ta’tiana Aleigsha Goston of Lima. A Goddaughter; Corri Keys of Lima. A granddaughter; Aliyah Lorraine Goston. Five brothers; Jeff Goston, Dennis Goston and Bob Goston all of Columbus, OH. Greg Goston (Hailey Owens) and Artillus Porter both of Lima. A sister; Alicia Shears of Columbus, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Goston fought a good fight and has now transitioned to his heavenly home. He is whole, He is Free! 2: Corinthians 5:8 ‘To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord’.
