Deacon Joseph Lee Miles

Deacon Joseph Lee Miles, age 95, went into the warm embrace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 3:04 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was born in Russell County, Alabama on February 6, 1927 to John Burth and Sophia Miles. Both parents preceded him death.

In the spring of April 1949, he and Ossie Brown were united in marriage. Ossie Miles preceded him in death on June 29, 1984.

Joseph was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was also ordained a Deacon around 1964. Joseph loved to sing. He was in the choir and a member of The Male Chorus of  Laymans. He also was a member of U.A.W Local 211.

Joseph leaves to cherish his precious memory his only son, Terry Miles of Akron, OH; 2 sisters: Mary Murry of Phenix City, AL and Annie Cunningham of Buffalo, NY; 1 Grandchild;  3 Great Grandchildren; a special niece, Lois Delores Pittman of Lima, OH; a special friend, Julia Sanks of Lima, OH; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

 He is preceded in death by his daughter,  Diane Miles; 3 brothers: David Miles, Cleveland Brown and John Miles; 3 sisters: Alice Allen, Ophelia Pruitt and Johnnie M. Battile all preceded him in death.

Home Going Services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Cleven Jones Officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 pm.

Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
