Obituary of Daryl Duane Upshaw

Daryl Duane Upshaw, Sr., age 60, passed from this life on Monday, October 30. 2023 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.  Daryl was born on December 17, 1962 to Johnny Lee and Johnnie L. (Pollard) Upshaw.  Both parents survive him in Lima, OH.

Daryl was employed at Proctor and Gamble as an assembly line worker.  He accepted Christ at an early age.  He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he was a former member of the usher board.

Besides his loving parents, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 children: Daryl D. (Tanea) Upshaw, Jr. of Houston, TX and Courtney J. Upshaw of Las Vegas, NV.  A granddaughter:  Destiny Upshaw of Houston, TX.  2 sisters:  Teresa D. Upshaw-Nichols of Lima, OH and Angela F. (Dennis) Perry of Atlanta, GA.  2 brothers: Timothy L. (Linda) Upshaw of Lima, OH and Snowden G. (Melinda) Sims of Columbus, OH.  His longtime companion, Mary Murray of Lima, OH.  A host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents:  Frank and Mariah Upshaw and maternal grandparents:  Fletcher and Cora Pollard.

Home going services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12:00 pm at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Kelly officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm also at the church.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
