Ms. Betty Bernice Collins, 77, passed from this life on Monday, January 25, 2021 at approximately 4:49 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 9, 1943 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Collins and Mary (Walton) Monroe; both parents preceded her death.
Ms. Collins was a member of New Life Christian Ministries. She was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1911 auxiliary. She retired from the Dietary department of St. Rita’s Medical Center. She loved Happy Daz foot long Chili Dogs with mushrooms and salad.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, 3 daughters; Valerie A. Monroe of Atlanta, GA. Rhonda B. Monroe and Tara D. Monroe both of Lima. 2 grandsons she adopted and raised as her sons; Marquis Rafael Monroe and Marquavious Antwaon Monroe both of Lima. Grandsons; Ronnie Monroe of Newport News, VA and Timothy Monroe of Lima. 1 great- grandson and 3 great- granddaughters; 1 brother; Elhue Monroe of Lima. 2 sisters; Anita Monroe and Lucille Monroe both of Lima. A special friend; Jayne McCullough of Toledo. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son; Timothy T. Monroe. 2 brothers; Leonard Bingham, Sr. and Roma Monroe, Sr. 3 sisters; Etta Cooks, Cora Simpson, Berotha Gaines.
Home going services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Austin Lewis, Jr., officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
