Mr. Robert Lee Houston “Red”, age 86, passed from this life on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at approximately 3:00 p.m. at Lima Manor Nursing Facility here in Lima.

He was born in Florence, Alabama  to the union of Bennie and Sarah Houston, both parents  preceded him in death.

Mr. Houston was united in Marriage on July 18, 1954 to the former Jean Ann Beatty.  They were married almost 62 years. 

Mr. Houston formerly was employed in the central foundry at General Motors Defiance. He  was a member of Local Union #211.  He was a longtime member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where he served as Church  Stewart,  Sang in the choir and the Mens Chorus, served on the kitchen committee and was chairman of the Mens Day Committee.

Besides his Loving wife He leaves to cherish his precious memory 3 Sons:  Jeffery Houston of Switzerland, Shawn Houston of Lima and Kevin Houston (Misty) also of Lima.  1 Daughter:  Tina Houston (Eugene Lowe) of Lima.  4 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.  1 Brother:  Leroy Houston (Linda) of Lima. 4 Sisters:  Annie M. Comer of Cleveland Ohio.  Mary Callahan of Arizona.  LeArtra Gordy (L.C.) and Willie M. Simpson  both of Lima, Ohio. A Godchild:  Kaletra Bevis.

He was preceded in death by a Daughter:  Kimberly Houston, 2 Brothers:  Thomas Houston and Willie C. “Joe” Houston and 1 Sister:  Catherine Patrick.

Services will be held Thursday March 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Rev. John E. Kidd, officiating.
