Norman Lee Chambers, age 69, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at approximately 11:27 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
Mr. Chambers was born in Lima, Ohio on April 12, 1948 to the union of Brown Arthur and Inez (Daniel) Chambers, Sr.; both parent preceded him in death.
On November 30, 1975 he was united in holy matrimony to Sharon Diane White, she survives in Lima.
Mr. Chambers retired from Ford Motor Company in 2003. He was a member of New Life Church International he was also a member of U.A.W. Local 1219. Mr. Chambers coached many teams in the Midget Football League for over 40 years, including the Cobra’s, Panthers and the Hawks. He also coached the Lima Optimist Baseball Team. He won a city championship in 1992 with the Whittier Terriers.
Besides his loving wife Sharon he leaves to cherish his precious memory 4 sons; Shawn L. Cook, Sr. of Lima. Ernest L. Martin, Sr. (LaDonna) of Toledo, Ohio. Damon D. Cook, Sr. (Teresa) of Ft. Worth, TX. Bryan S. Chambers, Sr. (Caus-Andre D. Miller) of Lima. 2 daughters; Tracy Martin of Ft. Worth, TX. and Erika M. Chambers of Lima. 28 grandchildren and 31 great- grandchildren. 4 brothers; Brown A. Chambers, III (Tina) of Lima. David C. Chambers (Sharon) of Palm Springs, CA., Cullen B. Chambers of L.A., CA. and Gregory J. Chambers of Palm Springs, CA. 4 sisters; Mary P. Monford (Bobbie) and Carol L. Florence both of Lima. Jamesey M. Renfro (Derrick) of Jacksonville, FL. and Jollon B. Duncan (Kirk) of Beason, IL.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Jaylen and Jason Chambers. 2 sisters; Cheryl Allen and Emma Dickey.
Services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur L. Butler, officiating.
Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
