Maleek Leon Nelson

Maleek Leon Nelson, age 8, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at approximately 5:38 p.m.  at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Harbor, Michigan.

He was born on October 19, 2009 in Toledo, Ohio to the union of Ricky Leon and Annette (Bland) Nelson; both his parents survive in Lima.

Maleek was an honor roll student at Perry Elementary and an Honorary Police Officer with the Lima Police Department. He was very lovable and well known in the Lima community.  Maleek brought Joy and laughter to many hearts, he always smiled even through sickness and pain.  He loved his parents and lived a wonderful life.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, a sister; Rayona Nelson of Lima.  2 nephews; Ky Hubbard and Lacierce Nelson and a niece; Lariah Hubbard.  Aunts; Jackie Jones (Dan), Renita Green (William), Bonita Nelson, Pamela Kroninger (Antar) and Jocelynn Smith.  An uncle; Scott Bland.  Paternal grandmother; Ida Davis of Birmingham, AL.  Maternal grandparents; George and Jill Bland of Findlay, Ohio. A host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; Earnest Nelson.

Home going services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Monford, officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  at the Jones-Clark Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
