Evelyn Kirkman

Mrs. Evelyn Kirkman, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018  at approximately 1:48 a.m.  at Lost Creek Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Lima.

Mrs. Kirkman was born on July 30, 1931   in Birmingham, Alabama to Laurge Vance and Mary Dangerfield; both parents preceded her in death.

On August 30, 1954 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. James W. Kirkman who preceded her in death on January 20, 2006.

Mrs. Kirkman retired from St. Rita’s Medical Center as a Nurses Aid. She was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was a former member of Church’s Footprint Club, the Missionary Society and the Senior Sanctuary Choir.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 3 sons; Elzie J. Kirkman (Susan) of Columbus, Ohio, Russell O. Kirkman (Minette) of Atlanta, GA and Jeffery K. Kirkman (Wilma) of Lima. 2 daughters; Mary A. Kirkman of Columbus, Ohio and Mignon E. Caldwell (Roland) of Columbus, Ohio.  11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  A sister; Nellie Knight of Lima.  3 sisters-in-law; Rose Patton of Lima.  Annis Sullivan of Rocky Gap, Virginia and Estella Thompson of Cleveland.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Edward “Bo” Patton and a sister; Carrie Grant (Bernice) .  Special aunts and uncles; Raymond and Irene Patton and Joseph Dangerfield.

Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.  at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held at the Church on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  until time of services at 1:00 p.m. where the family will be present at 11:00 a.m.
