Eton McKinley, Jr. (affectionately called Junior), age 78, entered into God’s total rest and returned to his heavenly home on March 21, 2018 at the Lima Rebab Nursing Facility.
Junior was born on August 3, 1939 Jonestown, Mississippi to Eton McKinley, Sr. and Annie Mae Williams; both parents are deceased.
Junior confessed his love for Christ at a young age and practiced in the faith of Christianity. Junior attended school in the Jonestown County School District. After leaving school his passion for repairing automobiles lead him to become a master mechanic. Junior took great pride in repairing cars for his family and friends.
Junior later moved to St. Louis, MO as a young man and began working as a Sanitation Operator for the City of St Louis. He retired from the city in 2007 after 35 years of service. He was a devoted and dedicated employee that was well liked by all who came in contact with hi.
Junior was a man of few words but walked with strength, confidence and pride. There was never a dull moment when Junior was in your present. He love gathering with family and he often provided the entertainment by playing his harmonica. His love for his family was immense but nothing brought him more joy than a visit from his children. They became the essence of his existence. In 2015 after he became ill he would leave St. Louis and relocate to Lima, Ohio.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Sylvester Hart (Denise) and Joseph Montrell McKinley (Latonia Franklin). 3 daughters; Bobbie Jean Hart, Queen Ester Hart (Jimmy Fields) and Betty Jean Coleman Tyrone). Grandchildren; Demetrius, Cornelieus, Sandlin, Brandi, Gemecih, Adrain, Lauren, Hale, Jamesha, Britany, Willie, Kasey, Terrell, Brandon, Elizabeth, Tye Marie, Kimmell. Great grandchildren; Demetrius, Mackenzie, Bella, Shelly, Brandon, Malachi, Isaiah, Zariya, Zoe, Xavier, Uziah, Kennedi, Avery, Davion, Jr. 2 brothers; Allen Madlock and Hamp Woodley. 7 sisters; Daisella Versey, Eva Hudson, Betty Youngblood, Mary Woodley, Dorothy Lee Stearnes, Vera Woodley, Vera Jean Williams of Milwaukee, WI,
He was preceded in death by a son; Willie James Hart. A brother; Johnny Madlock And 2 sisters; Ruth Rose and Rutha Mae Madlock.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Austin Lewis, Jr., officiating.
Visitation/Wake will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. until of services at 11:00 a.m.
