Obituary of Joyce Denise Goins

Joyce Denise Goins, age 70, passed away from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her residence in Lima, Ohio.  She was born in Selma, Alabama on July 22, 1953, to Melvin Johnson and Mary Marie (Carey) Fails.  She was preceded in death by both parents and by her common-law husband of 20 years, Willie B. Lewis.

Joyce was employed as a daycare provider.  She was a member of Grace Worldwide Ministries where she was known for saying, “Amen”.  Joyce loved her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Every day she faithfully shared a Bible scripture with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory 1 son:  Cliffton (Sarah) Goins of Lima, OH.  2 daughters:  Sherika Goins and Stephanie Goins, both of Lima, OH.  3 sisters:  Carolyn Austin and Sandra Fails, both of Lima, OH; and Roslyn Waddell of Columbus, OH.  3 brothers:  Robert Goins; Melvin Goins; and Ronald (Carol) Fails; all of Lima, OH.  12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  2 Special daughters:  Stamica Hopson and Quinn Burton, both of Lima, OH.  Her best friend, Mary James Martin of Selma, AL, and a special friend, Carolyn Sims of Lima, OH.  A host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by a daughter:  Tywanda Goins and 2 brothers:  Jeffrey Fails and Michael Goins.

Home Going Services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Worldwide Ministries with Rev. Ronald Fails Officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also at the church.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
