Mrs. Oveta Lucille “Wee Wee” Shurelds, age 61, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at approximately 11:54  p.m. at her residence in Lima surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on June 17, 1954 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Owen Edward Cox and Mary Elizabeth Houston; her father is deceased and her mother Mary Elizabeth Houston-Callahan, survives in Lima, Ohio.

She was united in holy matrimony to Willie C. Shurelds who preceded her in death on November 25, 2013.

Mrs. Shurelds worked as a Daycare Teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church.  She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church.  She loved people and especially children.  Children always brought a smile to her face and made her life happy.  Before her health failed she loved to bowl, play tennis and go skating.

Besides her loving mother she leaves to cherish her precious memory, a son; Raj Kumar Houston of Lima.  3 daughters;  Savitri C. “Tammy” Houston of Kissimmee, FL.  Teniea Thomas of Ft. Hood, TX and Shalonda Shurelds of Lima.  15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 2 brothers;  Robert Weakley of Florence, AL and Edward L. Houston of Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Kenneth E. Houston.

Home going services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Robert Toney, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
