Mother Mae Francie Joiner, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at approximately 9:45 p.m. at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born in Columbus, Georgia on May 20, 1932 to Rev. John Wesley and Josephine (Ray) Joiner, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.
Mother Joiner attended school in Columbus, Georgia and then moved to Lima, Ohio later in life with her parents where she attended South Sr. High School.
She accepted Christ at an young age and was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Mass Choir served on the Mother’s Board and the Missionary Society. She was also active in the Northwest District.
Mother Joiner was a Homemaker and the best Mom in the whole wide world, she was formerly active in the Headstart Program where was a teacher’s aide. She later started her own Daycare Center (Mae Daycare), she took care of and nurtured many children. She loved to sing and loved talking to the neighborhood children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend affectionately know as (Aunt Frannie Wany) or (Aunt Francie). She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and soft voice.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory 2 sons; Ivory Kendricks and Pastor Tony Joiner (Martina) both of Lima. 4 daughters; Beverly J. “Jeannie” Smith of Atlanta, GA. Michele R. Butler (Pastor Arthur), Minister Rachele Joiner and Sheryl D. Bennett (Glenn) all of Lima. 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A sweet sister; Ella M. Joiner of Cleveland. 2 sisters-in-law; Maxine Joiner of Cleveland and Eleanor Humphries of Toledo. A brother-in-law; Pastor David Watts of Cleveland. 2 Goddaughters; Marty Ledsinger and Minister Elaine Watkins and a God sister; Mattie Jones.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Josephine Gray, Joanne Humphries and Johnnie M. Watts. 3 brothers; John W. Joiner, Jr., Jimmy Joiner and Elton Joiner. Brother-in-law; Louis F. Humphries, Sr.
