Mrs. Maggie Mae Shepherd, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on May 2, 1928 in Belzoni, Mississippi to William and Eula Mae Singleton Stokes; both parents preceded her in death.

On February 16, 1946 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Allen Shepherd; he preceded her in death on March 16, 1988.

Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker; she formerly worked at Oaks Convalescent Home and volunteered in the community room at Lima Towers.  She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a daughter-in-law;  Linda Shepherd of Lima.  A brother; Harry Bradfield of Mt. Balyeat, Mississippi.  2 grandsons;  Eddie Shepherd, Jr. and Lewis Shepherd, Sr. and 2 granddaughters;  Donna Shepherd and Martinez Shepherd.  13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons;  Johnnie Shepherd and Eddie Shepherd, Sr.  A grandson; Johnnie L. Shepherd, Jr.  A sister; Charlie Mae Coleman. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Robert Toney,  officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the funeral home.                    

Interment – Memorial Park Cemetery
