Mr. Louis Frederick Humphries, Sr., age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at approximately 9:34 a.m. at his residence in Lima.

Mr. Humphries was born on July 28, 1939 in Sunflower County, Mississippi to the union of Eddie and Ethel Lee (Searchy) Humphries, Jr.; both parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Humphries first married Joann (Joiner) Humphries on September 25, 1965, she preceded him in death on November 23, 1992 and he then married Shirley (Irons) Humphries on April 3, 1999 who survives in Lima.

He worked as a Correctional Officer at Allen Correctional Institution; prior to working at Allen Correctional he worked at Westinghouse for over 27 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Usher Board.  He enjoyed playing Guitar and he was a gun enthusiast.    He loved riding motorcycles and was a fix everything kind of guy. 

Besides his loving wife Shirley he leaves to cherish his precious memory 3 daughters; Teresa A. Monford (Dr. B. LaMont) of  Lima.  Letetia Humphries of Atlanta, GA.  LaShay Irons of Lima.  A son; Louis F. Humphries (Nikki) of Atlanta, GA. 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 2 brothers; Ricky D. Humphries (Billie Jean) of Saginaw, MI.  Stanley W. Humphries (Latoya) of Sunflower County, Miss.  3 sisters; Eleanor Joiner of Toledo, OH, Mary Frances Morris (Carl) of Saginaw, MI and Betty Gardner (Joe) of Sunflower County, Miss. 

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Corbert Humphries and Eddie Humphries, III.  A sister; Marva Patterson.

Home going services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Toney, officiating and Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., eulogizing.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Church

Interment:  Woodlawn  Cemetery

Military Honors provided by V.F.W. 1275.
