Mrs. Loretta Tolbert, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at approximately 3:18 p.m. at James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born on March 17, 1956 in Lima, Ohio to the union of Rev. Major and Rosa Bell Flemon Amerson, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.

On August 30, 1986 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Jimmie Tolbert, who survives in Lima.

Mrs. Tolbert retired from General Dynamics after over 27 years of service.  She was baptized at an early age and was a graduate of Lima Senior High School.

Besides her loving husband Jimmie she leaves to cherish her precious memory a son; Christopher Tolbert of Columbus, Ohio.  A brother; Major Amerson, Jr. (Kathleen) of Lima.  5 sisters;  Margaret Jenkins (Jerry) of Killeen, Texas.  Katherine Lindsey of St. Louis, Illinois.  Geraldine Spivey and Patsy Henderson both of Lima. Rosetta Amerson of Columbus, Ohio.  2 Goddaughters; Jada and Janya Henderson of Lima.  4 brothers-in-law; Henry Tolbert, Jr. (Ann), Lee Tolbert, Daryl Tolbert (Tracy) and Trevor Tolbert.  4 sisters-in-law;  Linda Doxie (John), Doris Cook, Edith Bell and Cheryl Curtis.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister; Helen Hall and a nephew; Deangelo Hall.

Home going services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lynwood Holland, officiating and Rev. A. L. Butler, eulogizing.  

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services with the family present from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. also at the Church.
