Mr. John McGuire, Sr., age 86, passed from this life on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at approximately 3:00 p.m. at his residence in Lima.

Mr. McGuire was born on  September 7, 1930 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Sam and Lillie B. (McMullin) McGuire; both parents preceded him in death.

On May 1, 1954 he was united in holy matrimony to Lillie B. (Bell) McGuire who preceded him in death on June 17, 2012.

Mr. McGuire retired from General Motors Corporation after many years of service.  After retirement he worked at Old Barn Out Back right beside his wife.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War and a member of U.A.W. Local 211.  .

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons;  Charles McGuire, Sr. of Lima and Sammie D. McGuire, Sr. (Arlene) of San Francisco, CA.  2 daughters;  Doris A. Wright and Betty McGuire both of Lima.  A sister;  Classie Spivey of Drew, Mississippi.  12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. One special son;  Willie McGuire (Jean) of Lima.

He was preceded in death by a 2 sons;  John McGuire, Jr. and George McGuire.  A brother; Major McGuire.  6 sisters; Sammie Spivey, Ida Smith, Fannie Ester, Odessa Redd, Mariah Shedd and Nettie Davenport. 1 great granddaughter; Breauna R. Hartzog.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. King Beverly, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will held at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Funeral Home.

Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery
