Mrs. Helen Louise Owens, age 95, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at approximately 12:18  p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

She was born on May 23, 1922 in Lima, Ohio to the union of Andrew R. and Minnie (Olden) Campbell; both parents preceded her in death.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Wilbur Lee Owens who preceded her in death on March 10, 1949.

Mrs. Owens was a faithful member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a past Sunday School Teacher, past Member of the Choir, past member of the Stewardess Board, past Youth Choir Director for 25 years and past Youth Program Chairwoman. She was the Founder of the Sunbeam Children’s choir along with Mrs. Minnie Daniel.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a daughter; Beverly Ann Thompson of Columbus, Ohio.  3 grandchildren; Ojani Thompson, Hasaan Thompson and Michael Owens.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Wilma Jean Owens, a grandson; Billy Anderson, a great-grandson; Little David.  A brother; Robert Earl Campbell.  2 sisters; Edith M. Campbell, Inis Campbell.  Her son-in-law; David Thompson.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. John E. Kidd, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. also at the Church.

Interment – Woodlawn Cemetery
