Mr. Floyd Marshall “Marty” Cannon, age 68, passed from this life on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at approximately 5:55 p.m. at his residence in Lima surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on March 18, 1949 to the union of Elvin Elton and Allien (Morris) Cannon; both parents preceded him in death.

Marty and Rosemary were together over 47 years, she survives in Lima, Ohio.

Mr. Cannon worked as a machine operator at Continental Plastics, he also worked at Gast Plumbing and Heating and the Lima Towers.  He was a born again Christian.  He attended all his grandchildren’s basketball games.  He loved playing softball and played for Jack’s Club.  He also loved bowling and fishing.

Besides his loving wife Rosemary, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 daughters; Marsha E. Dixon (Oscar, Jr.) and Patricia “Neicy” D. Rose both of Lima.  A special daughter; Eyvonne Webster of Lima.  6 adopted children; Jason Wrasman, Jaylen Cannon, Drake Cannon, Dallas Cannon, ZiKese Cannon and Derrick Cowan all of Lima.  He had been a foster parent to more than 150 children.  9 grandchildren; Jamie Dixon (Letese), Allante Johnson, Jordan Dixon, Aaron Johnson, Carrington Lott, Camaron Lott, Josh Dixon, Eriana White and Dre’Ana White. 10 great-grandchildren.  6 brothers;  Elton Cannon (Ora), James Cannon (Tara), Melvin Cannon (Trina), Terry Cannon (Eilleen) and Cletus Cannon all of Lima.  Rev. Johnny Cannon (Marica) of Ft. Wayne, IN.  2 sisters;  Gloria Thompson (Robert) and Marva Cannon (Robert) both of Lima.  8 sisters-in-law; Rosie Cannon of Columbus, GA. Rosie Lee Wynn Kitchen, Dondeline Reynolds (Bobby), Juliet Johnson (James), Shirley Rose, Linda Thompson (Jody) and Shannon Tyler all of Lima.  Marlon White (Keith) of Ft. Wayne, IN.  His mother-in-law; Carrie Rose of Lima. 2 brothers-in-law; Alexander R. Rose (Tawana) and Belgium Rose (Stacey) both of Lima.

He was preceded in death by a brother; Elder Russell “Eddie” Cannon and a sister; Frankie Cannon.  Two brothers-in-law:  Telly Rose and William Lee Tyler, Jr.

Home going services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Church Worldwide Ministries with Rev. Johnny Cannon, officiating.

Visitation/wake services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
