Mr. Charles A. Burge, Sr., age 78, passed from this life on Friday, November 10, 2017 at approximately 8:46 a.m. at his son’s residence in Sandusky, Ohio.

He was born on December 8, 1938 in Tishomingo, Mississippi to the union of D. L. and Jessie (Chandler) Burge; both parents preceded him in death.

On March 18, 1978 he was united in holy matrimony to Cindy Conaway who survives in Sandusky, Ohio.

Mr. Burge retired from Ford Motor Company.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from University of Alabama and a Certificate in Diesel Repair from Northwestern University.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Besides his loving wife Cindy he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Stephon Hill of Florence, AL and Charles A. Burge, Jr. of Sandusky, OH.  2 daughters; Patricia Carter (Eric) of Detroit, MI.  Angela M. Burge of Sandusky, OH.  A Goddaughter; Evelyn Dukes of Lima. 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  2 brothers; David L. Burge and John A. Burge both of Lima.  A sister; Diane Seay (Larry) of Lima.  A sister-in-law; Vernna Burge of Defiance, OH.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Betty Jo Cotton and a brother; William Burge.

Home going services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. William Burge, officiating.

Visitation/wake services will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday also at the Funeral Home.
